Answers about WazobiaMail email sending, SMTP, custom domains, Google connections and your subscription.

What is WazobiaMail?

WazobiaMail is an email platform from Bonifade Technologies for developers, businesses and agencies. It brings email sending, custom domains and hosted mailboxes into one workspace.

Can I send email from my existing application?

Yes. Use the HTTP sending API from your server, or connect an application that supports authenticated SMTP. Your dashboard provides the credentials and domain settings for your account.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Add a domain in your dashboard and publish the DNS records provided for it. Domain verification, SPF, DKIM and DMARC help receiving servers identify your messages.

Do I get an inbox, or only an email sending service?

You can have both. Hosted mailboxes receive mail on your domain and connect to IMAP-capable mail apps. The sending API and SMTP connect your applications to outgoing email. Choose a plan with the mailbox and sending limits you need.

What does pay as you go cost?

Sending 4,000 emails costs ₦1,000 or $2. The minimum credit purchase is ₦2,000 or $3. One email sent to one recipient uses one credit, so a message sent to three people uses three credits. Check the current price before paying.

Do unused email credits carry over?

Yes. Purchased sending credits stay in your account until you use them. Your plan’s included sending allowance resets monthly. The included allowance is used before purchased credits.

Does the free plan include a business inbox?

No. Free and pay-as-you-go cover sending only. Choose a plan that includes receiving if you want hosted inboxes such as hello@yourbusiness.com. The pricing table shows each plan’s mailbox and storage limits.

How can I try sending before setting up an account?

Open Test an email in the homepage walkthrough, enter an address you control, add a subject and message, and choose Send test email. You can use plain or rich text. The public sample allows three attempts, with up to three recipients each, and has a shared daily limit. To test your own verified domain, use your sending API key in the integrations guide.

The test says accepted, but I cannot find the email. What should I do?

Check your spam folder and search for the subject you entered. Accepted means the sending service took the message; it does not prove inbox delivery. For messages sent from your account, check delivery activity for a bounce or other result. If a request times out, check activity before sending it again.

Can I use Outlook, Apple Mail or another email app?

Yes, if your app supports IMAP and authenticated SMTP and your plan includes hosted mailboxes. Use the mailbox address, credentials and server settings shown in your dashboard. Your sending API key is for the API, not your mailbox password.

Is mailbox storage shared by my team?

Yes. The storage shown for a plan is the total allowance across the account’s hosted mailboxes. It is not a separate allowance for every inbox. For example, a plan with 5 GB shares that 5 GB across its mailboxes.

How long does domain verification take?

After you add the records shown in your dashboard, DNS changes need time to reach other servers. Check that the record names and values match exactly, then run verification again. Your DNS provider controls how quickly the changes become visible; there is no fixed verification time.

Can I send newsletters and marketing emails?

You can connect SMTP to Commanda or a compatible marketing tool and send within your plan’s limits. Send only to people who agreed to hear from you, keep your list up to date, and provide an easy way to unsubscribe. Check whether your chosen campaign tool provides the features you need.

Where should I keep my API key?

Keep it in your server environment or a secret store. Do not put it in browser code, a public repository or a screenshot. Create a separate key for each integration when practical, and revoke a key from your dashboard if it is exposed.

Can I pay in naira or US dollars?

Yes. Available payment providers depend on the currency and your account’s checkout options. The website shows naira for visitors detected in Nigeria and dollars elsewhere. Confirm the currency, amount and selected plan in the app before payment.

How do I get help with setup or a failed message?

Use Support in your dashboard or the website contact page. Include the affected domain, message reference and error text where available. Share the time of the problem, but never include your password or API key.

Will my emails land in spam?

SPF, DKIM and DMARC help receiving services trust your domain. Follow the DNS setup, send to people who expect your mail, and test before launch. Inbox placement also depends on your reputation, content and the receiving service; no provider can guarantee every message avoids spam.

Can I use a custom address for a registration?

You can receive email at your hosted custom-domain address. If a service requires a business address, check its requirements first: that service decides which domains and addresses it accepts.

How do Google connections work?

Choose Google sign-in in the application and review the requested permissions. Gmail sending and Contacts access depend on the permissions you grant and your account settings. Google account sending limits still apply.

How much can I send?

Your active plan determines your sending allowance, rate limits, mailbox limits and data retention. Check the current plan details in the application before subscribing.

What is Commanda?

Commanda is an app for Windows, macOS and Linux, available now. Keep customer details, send email, SMS or WhatsApp updates, get AI writing help and set reminders in one place. The app is free, but some functions need a paid subscription. Reading Gmail needs paid WazobiaMail access. Connected services may have their own charges.
